:: Modus operandi ::

There are two procedures in vogue for sanctioning treatment from Chief Minister’s relief fund. In the first case Chief Minister himself sanctions the relief after seeking report from the District Collector. In certain other cases, District Collector can sanction the assistance directly.

As per the latest government orders, people can submit their requests for treatment assistance before the concerned Village Officer. The Village Officer will conduct an enquiry into the matter and submit report to the Tahasildar within 5 days. The report will be forwarded to the Chief Ministers Office via the District Collector, along with the recommendations of Tahasildar and Collector. Government orders on the case will be issued within 3 days.

The finance secretary is the treasurer of Chief Minister’s Relief fund. Once the Revenue Department gives approval for the relief amount, the Finance Department will send a draft to the concerned District Collector and the amount will be disbursed to the recipient through the Tahasildar.

In emergency situations, Collector has the right to give financial assistance of up to Rs.500 for medical treatment and Rs.1000/- in case of death.

The revenue minister holds the authority to sanction a financial assistance of up to Rs.1000/- from the CM’s Relief fund.
