Letter to the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution

Dear Shri. Ram Vilas Paswan Ji,

I would like to bring to your kind attention regarding the delay in the release of minimum support price due to paddy farmers in the State, for the procurements made by the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation.

Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation is the state implementing agency for the paddy procurement, processing and distribution under DCP Scheme and has procured 4.527 LMT from the registered farmers in 2016-17 season. An amount of Rs. 182.06 crore towards minimum support price is yet to be disbursed to the farmers due to the non release from the Ministry. The proposal for the release of the said amount is pending in the Ministry.

As you would appreciate that the non-disbursement for the procurement already made from the farmers under the minimum support price would cause lot of discontent among the farmers.

Therefore I would request for your kind intervention and necessary instructions to the authorities to release the amount of Rs. 182.06 crore without delay so that the beneficiaries under the scheme get their amount credited to their bank account.

With regards,

Yours sincerely,

Shri. Ram Vilas Paswan
Hon’ble Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution,
